A BIT ABOUT THE SERVICES WE HAVE TO OFFER:
5 years ago, we opened up the ranch to the public on a very small scale, beginning with our first public trail ride in November '02.
It was a disaster!
You name it and it went wrong, from mesquite thorn flat tires on trucks and trailers, to broncy horses and nervous trail guides. But as with any venture - they say “give it 5 years”. Here we are in 2008 and the growth and education we have experienced has really been quite humbling.... and OH the tales along the way! We have been so blessed with a faithful client base - most of whom have become like family to us over the years. From that first ride, our services have grown and continue to grow as we add more and more activities and options every year, from TRAIL RIDING to
RODEOS, RANCH SORTINGS and COWBOY WEDDINGS! See below for more information about the services we have to offer you.
**NEW ACTIVITY**
PRIVATE RANCH RETREAT:
By advance registration only, we are now open to accepting guests for a PRIVATE RANCH RETREAT. Bring your own horse or come ride one of ours (limited # of horses available). We will immerse you in the midst of ranch life and culture, including but not limited to daily chores like checking fence or depending on the season, working or rounding up cattle. You'll spend your time horseback enjoying quality time with your equine partner and in the evenings, relax to the sounds of the Coyote Choir as they serenade you as you enjoy the glow of a campfire. If you've ever dreamed of what it would be like to live and work on a working cattle ranch, here's your chance to experience it first hand. Please call or e-mail us for add'l details or questions.
RV HOOK-UP SPOTS:
We have accomodations for 9 hook-up spots, complete with water, 110/220 electric, portable pens for horses, a fire pit and picnic tables.
We are open 7 days a week, all year long and welcome guests needing lay-over accommodations during travel or guests seeking a private ranch experience and a new place to ride (see Trail Riding below).
TRAIL RIDING:
All trail riding on this ranch is GUIDED. We offer day riding or weekend rides for private individuals or
groups (no minimum # of riders). We proudly host annual public rides for AQHA and TETRA Rgn 10. We are also open to hosting organized ride events for private clubs and barns. Please call or e-mail for details.
RANCH SORTING:
We have a full schedule of RANCH SORTING opportunities and we also offer private lessons, clinics and opportunities to expose and introduce your horse on cattle.

The ORIGINAL COWGIRL WEEKEND:
We are proud to produce the original annual COWGIRL WEEKEND held every spring in Smithville, Texas. This is such a unique event for ALL Cowgirls -- all you need to participate is your own horse and a heart filled with the Cowgirl Spirit!
CUSTOM CORPORATE EVENTS:
Looking for something unique to do for your corporate get together?
Let us host a unique Corporate Event for your business. From a Ranch Rodeo to a Ranch Sorting or a hay ride; Cowboy Catering to Texas Two Steppin' - from start to finish, we'll produce an affordable and unforgettable experience, WATTERSON RANCH STYLE all the way! COWBOY WEDDINGS:
We can organize ALL the details, or provide just the setting. Watch the bride make her breath-taking entrance as she rolls across the prairie in a Cowboy Cadillac (mule drawn wagon) to her waiting groom on horseback under a shady grove of old oak trees. We can provide the Cowboy Cowboy Catering, the reception hall right down the road from the ranch, and a Texas Two-Steppin' Band, to complete an unforgettable Cowboy Wedding.
